Call for Papers

LXXI Anglo-Catalan Society Annual Conference
Cambridge , 11–13 December 2026

We welcome the submission of proposals for 20-minute papers, which focus on any aspect of Catalan Studies (linguistic, historical, literary, sociological, political, musical, comparative, etc.). The contribution must be original, that is, it will not be accepted if it has been presented elsewhere.

We also welcome proposals for panels of 90 minutes with up to 3 or 4 contributions of 15 or 20 minutes each. In this case, please submit a proposal with a brief outline of the panel and an abstract for each of the contributions.

For further information about the conference, accommodation and programme, visit the annual conference section of our website. Should you have any queries, please contact the conference local organiser: Dr Isaias Fanlo (ifg22@cam.ac.uk).

Note that delegates must be members of the Society at the appropriate level (full, student, etc.) in order to present a paper. Those attending but not presenting are encouraged to become members of the Society, although this is not obligatory.

Please send 200-word abstract proposals (with details of title; presenter; affiliation and email) to the Society’s Honorary Secretary, Dr Guillem Colom-Montero (Guillem.Colom-Montero@glasgow.ac.uk) by no later than 13 April 2026.

We aim to notify all applicants whether their proposals have been accepted by the end of April 2026. Further information about the Conference fee will be made available on the Anglo-Catalan Society webpage in due course.
