Call for Papers

LXVIII Anglo-Catalan Society Annual Conference
Universitat de les Illes Balears, Palma, 10th to 11th November 2023

You are invited to offer a proposal for a 20-minute paper at the LXVIII Anglo-Catalan Society Conference. The paper may focus on any aspect of Catalan culture (linguistic, historical, literary, sociological, political, musical, etc.). The contribution must be original, that is, it will not be accepted if it has been presented elsewhere.

For further information about the conference, accommodation and programme, visit the annual conference section of our website. Should you have any queries, please contact one of the conference local organisers: Margalida Pons (margalida.pons@uib.cat), Xisca Castell (francisca.castell@uib.cat), Isabel Crespí (isabel.crespi@uib.cat), Aina Gomis (aina.gomis@uib.cat), Catalina Mir (cmirjaum21@alumnes.ub.edu) Mercè Picornell (m.picornell@uib.cat), Llucia Serra (llucia.serra.cat@gmail.com) and Ivan Solivellas (ivan.solivellas@uib.cat).

Please note that delegates must be members of the Society at the appropriate level (full, student, etc.) in order to present a paper. Those attending but not presenting are encouraged to become members of the Society, although this is not obligatory.

Please send proposals (affiliation and contact details, title and 200-word abstract) by e-mail to the Society’s Honorary Secretary, Dr Daniel P. Grau (Universitat Jaume I
– daniel.grau@uji.es) by 22th May 2023.

We hope to prepare a provisional programme by 15th June 2023. We will notify all applicants as to whether their proposals have been accepted or not around this date. Further information about the Conference fee, accommodation, etc. will be made available on the ACS webpage in due course.
